C <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> T <br /> /Y7 , ,✓r• <br /> DIY <br /> ✓fy� <br /> An Ordinance authorizing City Clerk and codifiers of ordinances <br /> a✓;t <br /> to make necessary corrections of Scrivener's clerical errors,references <br /> Whereas,the City Clerk has explicit statutory authority to correct scrivener's errors in codifying <br /> ordinances, including correction of manifest spelling, clerical or typographical errors, additions or <br /> omissions; and <br /> Whereas,the authority of the City Clerk to correct scrivener's errors should be explicitly extended by <br /> the City Council to even those errors that may not become manifest until after codification; and <br /> Whereas,the City Clerk's correction of such errors in ordinances can avoid confusion and is <br /> consistent with the City Clerk's authority to correct scrivener's errors in the Charter and in codifying <br /> ordinances; and <br /> Whereas,the City Clerk's authority to correct scrivener's errors in ordinances even after they are <br /> codified is clarified and established in this Ordinance for general application to all ordinances; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1.
