6 <br /> EXHIBIT A-1 - Scope of Work <br /> For Design of <br /> Sewer System Capacity Improvements "J" <br /> City of Everett Work Order#UP3270 <br /> Background and General Project Description <br /> URS Corp. has developed the following scope of work and fee estimate for engineering <br /> design services for the Sewer System Capacity Improvements".1", City of Everett Project <br /> #UP3270. The scope and fee have been developed based on the recommendations made <br /> from the preliminary engineering report, Sewer System Capacity Improvements -`J", Pre- <br /> Design Report,City of Everett, Washington, dated July 13, 2007,and accepted by the <br /> City. Per City's direction and as described in the Pre-Design report, the project is to be . <br /> designed and constructed in a single phase_ <br /> General Project Description: <br /> Engineering services shall be performed for the planning,design, and limited <br /> construction support services for the sewer conveyance piping, manholes, flow <br /> control structures and other improvements identified as Sewer System Capacity <br /> Improvements "J"- Work Order#UP 3270. The project is located in north Everett <br /> generally in the vicinity of Hoyt Ave., between 24th St and 17th St, and 17th St, <br /> between Hoyt Ave and Wetmore Ave. New sewer pipe for capacity <br /> improvements consists of approximately 1,875 linear feet of sewage force main <br /> pipe on Hoyt Ave between 24th St and 20'h St and 750 linear feet of sewage force <br /> main pipe on 17th St between Hoyt Ave and Wetmore Ave. In addition, <br /> improvements will include rerouting all flows from the 30-inch diameter main on <br /> 19th St into the Hoyt Interceptor at manhole A04 on Hoyt Avenue("19th St <br /> connection") and rerouting wet weather flows out of the Hoyt Interceptor into the <br /> 36-inch diameter main on 20'h St at manhole A05 on,Hoyt Avenue using a special <br /> flow control structure("20th St diversion). Refer to the attached Vicinity Map and <br /> the Scenario 2E Plan Map(Attachments 1 and 2). <br /> Schedule: <br /> In accordance with the City-s CIP and Sewer Plan, the Sewer System Capacity <br /> Improvements -1" project is planned to be constructed in 2008. The preliminary <br /> design report has defined a project that accomplishes the needed improvements in <br /> 2008. The City desires to initiate advertisement for construction bids for this <br /> project in early March of 2008_ The proposed design, permitting,and <br /> construction schedule which meets the City's timeline requirements is attached <br /> (Attachment 3). <br /> 14 <br /> Sewer System Capacity Improvements"L.
