Requests for Qualifications were mailed to 3 potential consultants, advertised in the Herald,posted on the City's website and at libraryconsultants.org. Eight responses were received and evaluated by the Library's strategic planning team. Based on this evaluation staff is recommending that Providence Associates LLC be awarded the contract. Under the attached contract Providence will provide a demographic analysis, focus groups, a web survey, a statistically valid telephone survey, and interviews with community leaders. They will hold meetings with the planning team, library staff, create a draft plan, and present a final plan to the Board of Trustees, Council, and staff. In addition to the$50,000 originally approved for this project, $3,895 will be paid from the Library's Reserve Fund to complete the contract. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign a contract with Providence Associates for Library Strategic Planning Services in the amount of$53,895. 36
