REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS <br />FIBER OPTIC CABLE INSTALLATIONS IN UTILITY PIPELINES <br />CITY OF EVERETT <br />The City of Everett, Washington is seeking consulting assistance to assess the feasibility <br />of installing fiber optic cable in water transmission pipelines and sewer mains. <br />Consultants interested in submitting a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must <br />demonstrate current expertise in fiber optic cable installed in utility pipelines, including <br />potable water transmission pipelines and sewer mains. Consultants without such <br />experience will not be considered qualified. <br />Project Information <br />The City of Everett operates and maintains approximately 50 miles of large water <br />transmission pipeline and approximately 50 miles of large sewer mains. The City is <br />interested in exploring the feasibility of designing, installing, operating, and maintaining <br />fiber optic cables in its large network of water and sewer pipelines, in order to enhance <br />communication resources available to the City between its numerous facilities and <br />departments. <br />Qualified consultants interested in submitting SOQ are requested to state their interest in <br />writing (no later than November 1St, 2007) to John McClellan at Everett Public Works, <br />Utilities Department, 3200 Cedar Street, Everett, WA 98201. Please direct questions to <br />the project manager, John McClellan, at (425) 257-8201. <br />SOQ Requirements <br />The SOQ shall be no longer than 25 type -written pages, including project descriptions, <br />resumes, and cover letter. Font sizes shall be 11 -point minimum. Consultants must <br />provide at least 5 relevant project descriptions completed within the last 5 years. <br />Please provide 6 copies of your SOQ package to the receptionist located on the first floor <br />of the Public Works Service Center located at 3200 Cedar Street, Everett, Washington, <br />98201. The deadline for submittals is 3:00 p.m. on December 1St, 2007. <br />The qualifications will be evaluated, and based on the results several firms may be short- <br />listed and asked to provide proposals for this project.
