a
TOURISM,DEVELOPMENT
Goals: Develop, implement and administer marketing programs and strategies designed to
create a greater awareness of Everett as a visitor destination. The focus will be on safety,
security and improving the shoulder and off-season travel, and expanding the Canadian market.
An important part of our efforts will be to involve the private sector and various community, arts,
athletic, heritage and cultural organizations in tourism marketing programs.
To accomplish these goals, the Tourism Bureau will undertake the following activities in 2007:
1. Advertising: Create an advertising campaign and place media buys in a minimum of 7
strategic consumer related travel and tourism publications targeting potential visitors in
concert with the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau's advertising campaigns. Edit all
materials for state publications and insure proper representation for Everett.
2. Response Piece/collateral: Produce 50,000 copies of a combined official visitor guide
and calendar of events for Everett.
3. Internet: Evaluate and update the city tourism web site adding events information as
received. Update as needed.
4. Develop packages and promotions:Work with local events and organizations to
develop and expand two packages in the off-season (October through May) to encourage
overnight visitor stays. Work to include Amtrak, Sound Transit, cycle tours and bus
transportation to utilize the Everett Transit Station where possible to capitalize on the
transit center. Propose Port of Everett involvement with boating promotions.
Snohomish County Tourism Bureau 8
Everett Tourism Marketing and Visitor Services Proposal
