}y y x fy • ORDINANCE NO. • AN ORDINANCE creating a special improvement project entitled "Everett Performing Arts Center Downtown Plaza", Fund 354, Program 036, to accumulate all costs for the improvement project. WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to make improvements in the vicinity and south of the Everett Performing Arts Center; and WHEREAS, an important component of a vital, livable, and memorable city is well- planned and programmed open space; and WHEREAS, a performing arts center downtown plaza implements the original intent and vision associated with the Everett Performing Arts Center; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: A special improvement project is hereby established as Fund 354, Program 036, entitled "Everett Performing Arts Center Downtown Plaza" to accumulate the costs required to make improvements for the project. Section 2: Authorization is hereby granted to the Parks and Recreation Director, under the administration of the Mayor, to assume full responsibility for conducting all tasks and performing all necessary steps to accomplish the actions authorized by this Ordinance. Section 3: The estimated total cost of the design and construction plan development is $246,132 including costs related to site surveying, plaza design, creation of construction drawings, preparing the bid package and construction cost estimates, providing design support during construction and contract administration. Section 4: The sum of $246,132 is hereby appropriated to Fund 354, Program 036 "Everett Performing Arts Center Plaza" as follows: A. Estimated Project Design Costs Design, Engineering and construction plan development $196,120 Survey of site $ 8,990 Design development contingency 20% $ 41,022 Total Estimated Design Costs $246,132
