.jr 3 Recommendation to Name the Everett Public Library Main Reading Room the Mark A. Nesse Reading Room Whereas, Mark A. Nesse concluded his career in library management in February, 2007; and Whereas,he is the longest-serving director in the history of the Everett Library system; and Whereas, his reputation was well- and long-established as a person of integrity,vision, and caring for the tens of thousands of citizens he served; and Whereas, he dedicated his heart,mind, and soul to the preservation of our basic freedoms as citizens to experience the written word in a free and unencumbered environment; and Whereas, through his active involvement in the design and reconstruction of the Everett Public Library in 1991, he was most responsible for the creation of a truly unique learning,research, and reading environment within the walls of that magnificent building; and Whereas, it is fitting that Mark A. Nesse's legacy as a community leader and library visionary be memorialized for future generations; and Whereas,Mark A. Nesse's outstanding service clearly meets the criteria identified in Resolution No. 5865, the policy for naming buildings, streets, facilities,places, or natural features within the corporate city limits or owned by the City of Everett; The Everett Public Library Board of Trustees, hereby recommends the main reading room in the Main Everett Public Library building be named the Mark A.
