v <br />1I <br />URS will estimate the construction costs by completing quantity take -offs from the drawings; <br />obtaining unit coats from publications, local experience and City project experience; estimating <br />total costs for each component of construction; and adding mark-up overhead, state tax, City <br />management and contingency. The cost estimate will be submitted separately from the drawing. <br />"Cask 60300: Plans and Specifications: <br />The construction contract is plaitned to be a change order to the cun-ent South End Interceptor <br />North Scoment Protection project that URS designed as Phase 2 of the 36"' Street Sewer <br />Protection Project. URS will produce drawings -sketches and specifications adequate for the ON <br />to issue a change order to the current contract. <br />URS will prepare the following full-size AutoCAD engineering drawings with specifications: <br />• Plan and Profile with Right -of -Way <br />• Details of Support Structure(s) <br />• Notes and Specifications <br />The plans and specifications gill be performance oriented to allow the contractor flexibility of <br />construction methods, and will be adequate for executing a change order to an existinn contract. <br />`['ask 60400 — Review Meetings <br />Reaular e-mail communications and telephone discussions will be held with the City to ensure the <br />Cr <br />most tectuiically feasible and cost-effective design to protect the pipeline. One kick-off meeting <br />was held in the URS office and one meeting will be held at the City office. The URS points of <br />contact and representatives at the meetin s will be Cecil Urlich and Bob Wallace. <br />Task 60500 — Construction Services <br />It is assumed that City staff will perform construction management and contract adrninistration. <br />131d and contract support services will be provided by URS to assist the City as follows: <br />• Review contractor shop drawings and submittals. <br />• Attend one construction meeting where design input may be required. <br />URS will provide a fesid.ent engineer to ensure that construction is completed in accordance with <br />the drawings. A 3 -week construction period is assumed. Specific activities will include, but riot <br />be limited to, the following: <br />• Photograph construction activities and pre -construction and final. conditions <br />• Prepare daily inspection reports of construction activities and discussions <br />• Proactively identify anv potential problems that could have a cost impact to the City <br />• Respond to the City's project manager needs. <br />At the end of construction, URS will complete a construction report that %vill document: <br />• Plan and specification compliance and deviations <br />• Unexpected conditions encountered <br />• Inspection and test reports <br />URS g C.
