Plans for a�iy such system shall be submitted to the Engineering 8 Public Service� Department for <br /> examination and approval. Such plans shall include pinns for the underground mains that will supply the <br /> sprinkler system. <br /> The type of sprinkler lo be installed will be determined by the Building Official. It may be an NFPA 13, <br /> NFPA 13R, or NFPA 13D system depending upon several factors. Sprinkler fnstalletion shall not begin <br /> without an approved and slamped set �f plans from the Engineering & Publfc Services Department The <br /> Fire Depertment will also review lhe plans and shali field inspect the installation based only on approved <br /> plans that must 6e on slte. Chanyes to plans must bei approved by both lhe Engineering & Public <br /> Services and Fire Departments. <br /> Aboveground sprinkler piping shall be hydrostatically tested as esta�lished in NFPA Standard 13. <br /> Underground piping shall be hydrostatically tested and Flushed as established in NFPA Standard 24 for <br /> private fire mains. Below-ground piping must be installed by Washington Stete Patrol Licensed <br /> Underground Sprinkler line certified "U' inslallers. For further information, conlect the State Fire <br /> Marshal's O�ce at (360) 570.3134 or contact the Everett Fre Department at (425) 257-8123. All such <br /> tests shall be witnessed by a Fire Department Inspector. Call (425) 257-8124 to make an appofntment <br /> for inspection. <br /> Contractors' materials and test certificates shali be submitted to the Everett Fre Departrnent prior to <br /> issuance of any Ce�tificates of Occupancy. <br /> 29. A pertnit is required from the Fire Department for cutting and welding, high-piled storage, hot work <br /> operations, repeir garage. <br /> 30.The Snohomish County Emergency Radio System is employed by the City of Everett Fire Department <br /> emergency crews and operates at 800 MHz. Large metal-framed or metal and concrete buildings can <br /> weaken the signal so that communication and, therefore, firefighter safety is compromised. This <br /> structure must meet the requirements of EMC 16.03.060, Sectlon 511,which specifically addresses <br /> required radio system perfortnance standards fn this structure. Your attenlion to this feature early in the <br /> planning steges will help avoid a costly, last-minute retroactive tnstallation of radio signal amplificatlon <br /> anlennae and other equipment. For details, call the Everett Fire Department Plan Reviewer at(425) <br /> 257-8123. <br /> 31. Construclion and demolition of buildings shall be in compliance wilh lhe provisions of the 2006 <br /> Intemational Fire Code, Chapter 14. <br /> 32. In order to expedile plan review, a hazardous materials inventory list shall be provided as a part of the <br /> submittal For building pertnil. The storage, handling and use of hazardous materials shall be in <br /> compliance with Chapter 27 of the Intematlonal Fire Code, 2006 EdiUon. <br /> 33. The slorage, handling and use oF flammable or combustible liquids shall comply with Chapter 34 of ihe <br /> Intemational Fire Code, 2006 Edition. <br /> 34. All fire alartn control panels (FACP)and sprinkler valves shall be in heated rooms or closets with <br /> slandard man door access. Locations shall be approved by the Fre Code Oflicial. <br /> 35. The location of Fire Departmenl connections(FDC)and post indicalor valves(PIV)shall be detertnined <br /> by lhe Fire Code Official. I(immediate oulside mandoor access is available to the sprinkler valves <br /> (risers), a PIV will not be required. <br /> n <br /> 6 �\ <br />
