1.9.1 Agriculture: Agricultural land uses in Everett are located within the floodplain and flood <br /> fringe of the Snohomish River. These areas shall continue to be permitted to be used for <br /> commercial agricultural purposes and other compatible land uses as specified in the Everett <br /> Zoning Code. <br /> The Snohomish County Council added two areas to Everett's Urban Growth Area when the <br /> County adopted its General Policy Plan in June, 1995 (Rhodes property/Port of Everett's <br /> "Biringer"property on Smith and Spencer islands; and the Misich property in the <br /> Snohomish River floodplain near the Lowell neighborhood). The City hereby designates <br /> these properties "agricultural" as they have been designated by the previous County <br /> comprehensive plan, and hereby incorporates the County Shoreline Master Program <br /> designation"rural" for both areas. These areas will be included in the future update to the <br /> City's Shoreline Master Program. Policies for land uses,resource protection and <br /> mitigation, and other related shoreline issues will be further addressed as part of the <br /> shoreline program update process. See attached maps. <br /> Section 6. The City of Everett Growth Management Comprehensive Plan, as contained in <br /> Exhibit A of Ordinance#2021-94, Section of the Land Use Element entitled"1.11.9.a) <br /> Metropolitan Center,"pages LU-33 and LU-34, is hereby amended by the addition of the <br /> attached map entitled"Everett Metropolitan Center"which designates the boundaries of the <br /> Everett Metropolitan Center. <br /> Section 7. The City of Everett Growth Management Comprehensive Plan, as contained in <br /> Exhibit A of Ordinance #2021-94, Section of the Economic Development Element entitled <br /> "Policy 5.2.10"page ED-15, which reads: <br /> 5.2.10 Improve the visual qualities of the corridors that connect downtown with <br /> Interstate 5. <br /> is hereby amended to read: <br /> 5.2.10 Improve the visual qualities of the following corridors that connect downtown <br /> with Interstate 5, with streetscape improvements such as street tree plantings, landscaping <br /> on private properties as they develop or redevelop, and redevelopment with attractive <br /> buildings and site development: <br /> Broadway (north of 41st Street), Everett Avenue, Hewitt Avenue, and Pacific Avenue. <br /> Section 8. The City of Everett Growth Management Comprehensive Plan, as contained in <br /> Exhibit A of Ordinance #2021-94, Section entitled"Urban Design and Historic Preservation <br /> Element" is hereby amended by the addition of the following policy text" <br /> 1 <br />
