Section 23. Section 22.020.E of Ordinance#1671-89 as amended by Ordinance# 1729- <br /> 90 and Ordinance# 1849-92 (EMC 19.22.020.E), which reads: <br /> E. Off-Street Parking. <br /> 1. The required off-street parking spaces listed in the"Use-Standards Table" <br /> indicates the parking requirement for new buildings. As an alternative to the off- <br /> street parking standards contained in the Use-Standards Table for the B-3 Zone, an <br /> applicant may propose an alternative parking standard, which shall be reviewed by <br /> the Planning Director in accordance with Section 34.030. <br /> 2. Existing buildings which were built prior to zoning regulations or under a prior <br /> zoning code shall be permitted to occupied without providing the additional off- <br /> street parking required by this Ordinance, except when an expansion of an existing <br /> building is proposed, additional off-street parking shall be provided as required by <br /> this Ordinance for the new portion of the building. <br /> is hereby amended to read: <br /> E. Off-Street Parking. <br /> 1. The required off-street parking spaces listed in the"Use-Standards Table" <br /> indicates the parking requirement for new buildings or additions to an existing <br /> building. As an alternative to the off-street parking standards contained in the <br /> Use-Standards Table for the B-3 Zone, an applicant may propose an alternative <br /> parking standard, which shall be reviewed by the Planning Director in accordance <br /> with EMC 19.34.030. <br /> 2. Exceptions <br /> a. Existing buildings which were built prior to zoning regulations or under <br /> a prior zoning code shall be permitted to occupied without providing the <br /> additional off-street parking required by the Use-Standards Table for the <br /> B-3 Zone. <br /> b. When an expansion of an existing building is proposed which adds the <br /> lesser of 10 percent of the gross floor area that existed as of January 13, <br /> 1990 or 1,000 square feet, no additional off-street parking shall be required <br /> for the new portion of the building. <br /> /471a' <br />
