The proposed partnership is a pilot project for native plant restoration at Forest Park. Partnerships, such as this one, are a key component with respect to implementation of the department's Strategic Plan. The attached memorandum identifies the mutual responsibilities of the City and WNPS. The WNPS will teach and train stewards native plant restoration principles, concepts and techniques during an eight (8) week course. In exchange for providing classroom space at Legion Park, the stewards agree to contribute a minimum of 300 hours of plant restoration stewardship during the next 12 months on a one (1) acre parcel at Forest Park. The class, which is free to the public, will begin in early April 2008.
