Ordinance No. 2452-00 included several parks projects which authorized the use of CIP 3 funds to design, engineer and construct improvements. One of the projects was to renovate outdoor basketball courts throughout the parks system. Subsequent to ordinance approval, renovations did not occur. The current direction is to update sports courts as part of the construction of park master plans as opposed to designing and constructing "stand alone" court improvements within a park. Consequently, these funds will not be expended as originally intended eight years ago. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt the ordinance closing the special improvement project entitled "1996-2000 Outdoor Basketball Courts —Various Parks," Fund 354, Program 013 as established by Ordinance No. 2452-00. 14
