First Reading Contact Person David Voigt Second Reading Phone Number (425) 257-8983 • Third Reading FOR AGENDA OF 4/9/2008 Public Hearing Initialed by: Department Head CAA Council President n_ Location Preceding Action Attachments Department(s)Approval Entire sewer service area None Advertisement notice Public Works of the City of Everett Amount Budgeted $100,000 Expenditure Required $1,000 Account Number(s): Fund 401 Budget Remaining $99,000 Additional Required $0 DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The City of Everett Public Works Department (City) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for sewer system flow monitoring services generally summarized as follows: • Metering at selected locations in conjunction with waste strength sampling by WPCF Industrial Pretreatment group. • Metering and rain gauges for calibration of a sewer hydraulic model of the City's sanitary and combined sewer system. • Metering to evaluate status of current pipe capacity in selected trunks and interceptors. • Metering of flows received into the City system from outside sewer agencies. The sewer monitoring consultant shall furnish and install temporary sewer flow monitoring and rain gauge equipment at selected locations in the City's combined and sanitary sewer network and shall provide comprehensive data management and equipment maintenance. Sewer and rainfall monitoring shall be conducted for approximately 9 months beginning in July or August 2008. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize Request for Proposals 2008-044 for qualified firms to perform sewer flow monitoring work in 2008 -2009.
