These improvements will provide <br />additional sewage conveyance capacity in the Central Interceptor system as identified by the Final 2006 <br />Comprehensive Sewer Plan <br />The construction work will occur in two separate areas: <br />On 3rd Ave SE between 108th St SE and Everett Mall Way, and <br />On 92nd St SE between Dorn Ave. and West Mall Drive. <br />Construction bids were received from eleven contractors on April 1, 2008, and a summary bid tabulation is <br />attached. The low bid amount is $4,493,949.45 from Shoreline Construction Co., and the Engineers <br />Estimate was $6.13 million. Construction is anticipated to begin in June 2008 and end in May 2009. <br />RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br />Award the Sewer System Capacity Improvements "K" - Phase 1 Project to the lowest responsive bidder, <br />Shoreline Construction Co., and authorize the Mayor to sign a contract in the amount of $4,493,949.45. <br />C:\Documents and Settings\SuClark\Desktop\April 16 Council\Swr K Ph I_Award Constr_Cncl Agenda Cover.DOC <br />
