EXHIBIT A - 4 <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />1S <br />contract documents are being fulfilled, to responsibly carry out the program of <br />inspection to guard the City against defects and deficiencies in the work of the <br />Construction Contractor, and to advise the Construction Contractor when defects and <br />deficiencies are observed in the work. <br />Contractor (MWH) will direct its efforts toward determining that the completed <br />project will be in general conformance with the plans and specifications, but <br />Contractor (MWH) shall not be responsible for the means, methods, techniques, or <br />procedures of construction selected by the Construction Contractor(s) or for the safety <br />precautions and programs incident to the work of Construction Contractor(s) or for <br />any failure of Construction Contractor(s) to comply with laws, ordinances, rules, or <br />regulations applicable to the construction work. The parties recognize that the <br />Construction Contractor(s) is responsible for ensuring that construction is in <br />accordance with the plans and specifications. <br />Notwithstanding any inferences, references, or omissions to the contrary contained <br />within this document, the City understands that Contractor (MWH) would not direct <br />any Construction Contractors or Construction subcontractors, at the job site, and it is <br />hereby agreed that Contractor (MWH) would assume no obligation for any acts, <br />errors, or omissions of parties other than Contractor (MWH). <br />2. Project Daily Report. Complete a daily report that records decisions and observations <br />of a general or specific nature in chronological order. <br />3. Coordinate Testing and Inspection. Coordinate, report, and log the results for field <br />sampling, field testing, and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates and concrete to <br />determine compliance of those materials with construction contract requirements. In <br />those instances where unsatisfactory test results are obtained, follow through with <br />notification to the Construction Contractor, and retesting of the materials after <br />corrections are made. <br />4. Progress Payment Verification. Review Construction Contractor's monthly payment <br />requests. Collect and tabulate all quantity delivery tickets for unit price quantities <br />where required. Verify Construction Contractor's estimates of completion levels. <br />Maintain record of all quantity calculations and substantive certifications and provide <br />copies of such records to the City. <br />5. Photographs. Take pre -construction photographs/video tapes and progress <br />photographs of construction activities on a weekly basis to document progress of the <br />work and job site conditions encountered. <br />6. Final Review and Inspection. Perform a final review and inspection of the <br />construction work and prepare a final list of items to be corrected (i.e. "Punch List"). <br />After substantial completion of the project, verify completion of the punch list. <br />9,® <br />MWH Page 4 EVERETT PHASE 6 <br />4/17/08 EXHIBIT A-4 SCOPE OF WORK <br />
