The Compass
Rose mosaic was developed around the history of the Everett Waterfront, the Puget Sound
environment and historic Grand Avenue. The gift of $20,000 by community member Barbara
Lamoureux is to be used exclusively towards the design, fabrication and installation of the art piece
titled "Compass Rose" by artist Glen Andersen at the plaza overlook at Grand Avenue Park in
memory of her friend, Becky Fauver, an Everett City Planner, who lived from 1976 to 2006.
Although Becky lived a short life, her impact was great on those with whom she worked with. By
Council accepting this gift of $10,000 to be paid 2008 and the remaining $10,000 to be paid in
2009, the city recognizes and thanks Ms. Lamoureux. A plaque commemorating the life of Becky
Fauver will be placed at the "Compass Rose" mosaic at the plaza overlook at Grand Avenue Park for
all to enjoy.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution accepting a donation of $20,000 from Barbara Lamoureux towards design
and installation of the Compass Rose Mosaic by artist Glen Andersen at the plaza overlook at
Grand Avenue Park in memory of Becky Fauver
