9 <br /> 4,4110tinc' <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF EVERETT <br /> AND CENTER FOR BATTERED WOMEN <br /> Regarding STOP Grant#F07-31103-069 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett, along with the Snohomish County Prosecuting <br /> Attorney's Office, the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women and Providence <br /> Everett Medical Center, applied for and was awarded renewal of STOP Grant funds from <br /> the U.S. Department of Justice, through the State of Washington Office of Community <br /> Development; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett is the lead agency for purpose of administering <br /> the funds awarded to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the STOP Grant funding will provide an ongoing opportunity for the <br /> Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney's Office to promote awareness of domestic <br /> violence, increase responsiveness, support victims and work toward holding offenders <br /> accountable; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. Parties. This Agreement is made by and between the CITY OF EVERETT, a <br /> municipal corporation ("City"), and the Snohomish County Center for Battered <br /> Women, a nonprofit corporation ("Contractor"). <br /> 2. Purpose. The purpose of the Agreement is to define responsibilities and <br /> obligations of the parties relating to use of STOP Grant funds. <br /> 3. Term. This Agreement shall commence upon execution of the parties and shall <br /> be effective from October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008, unless earlier <br /> terminated as provided herein. This Agreement is renewable for up to four <br /> additional one-year terms upon mutual agreement of the parties. <br /> 4. Termination. This Agreement may be terminated upon the mutual agreement of <br /> the parties, upon 30 days notice in the event of failure of grant funding, or as <br /> provided elsewhere in the Agreement. <br /> 5. Amendments. This Agreement may be amended only upon written agreement of <br /> the parties, executed in the same manner as provided by law for the execution of <br /> this Agreement. <br /> 6.
