4.1.10 Streetscape Elements: <br /> Intent: To create a more pedestrian friendly street through the use <br /> of site furnishings. <br /> Guidelines: Publicly usable site furnishings such as benches, <br /> tables, bike racks and other pedestrian amenities shall be <br /> provided at building entrances and other pedestrian areas <br /> for all buildings. Specific types of site furnishings shall be <br /> approved by the City if in the right-of-way. <br /> 4.1.10 Sidewalks and Street Trees: <br /> Intent: To establish a consistent character for street right-of-ways <br /> and enhance the natural, aesthetic and urban environment <br /> as well as improve pedestrian safety. <br /> Guidelines: Minimum streetscape improvements are listed in <br /> Section 2 of Ordinance 2850-05. The following guidelines <br /> provide additional information regarding the nature and <br /> intent of said improvements. The Planning Director and <br /> City Engineer will have final review authority over actual <br /> improvements installed. <br /> • Street trees shall be planted between the curb and the walking path <br /> of the sidewalk. <br /> • Large trees with overhanging canopies or branches are desirable. <br /> However, species of street trees shall be of a type approved by the <br /> City. <br /> • Between the building and sidewalk there shall be a minimum of <br /> seven feet of Type II Landscaping. <br /> 102 <br /> 33 <br />
