WETLAND CLASSIFICATIONS - COWARDiN SYSTEM <br />According to the Cowardin System, as described in Classification of Wetlands and <br />Deepwater Habitats of the United States, the on-site wetlands aze classified as follows. <br />Wetland : Palustrine, Forested Wedand, Decidious, Seasonally Flooded. <br />Stream: Riverine, Intermittent, Sveambed, Cobble-gravel. <br />WETLAND CLASSIFIC.ITIONS - SYOHOMISH COUNTY <br />Under the Snohomish County Critical Areas Re;ulations, SCC 32.10, the on-site <br />wetlands are classified as follows: <br />Wedands <br />Urban Category 3: These wetlands are immature forested less than 10 acres in size. <br />Urban Cateeory 3 wedands in Snohomish County rypically receive 25-foot protective <br />buffers measured horizontally from the delineated edge. <br />Stream <br />Type 4: These streams are 2 feet or wider between the OHWM and are not used by <br />signi6cant numbers of fish. Type 4 streams in Snohomish County typically receive 25- <br />foot protective buffers measured horizontally from the delineated edge. <br />In Snohomish Counry, re;ulated streams, wetlands, and their buffers are designated <br />collectively as Native Growth Protection Areas (NGPAs). Native Growth Protection <br />Areas are ro be left permanendy undisturbed in thcir natural state and are subject ro the <br />following conditions: <br />"A NATIVE GROWTH PROTECTION AREA EASillEN7' is to be left pernianently <br />undisturbed in a substantially nat«ral stute. No clenring, grading, filling, buildi,ig <br />constnictiat or placement, or road constn�ction of any kind shall occur, e.rcept removal <br />of ka;.ardous trees. The activities set jord� in 5CC 32.10.110(29) a, c, d, are al(owed <br />when ap�raved by the Cnimty." <br />2 Kr� <br />
