species shall not be criteria for success. By the end of the third growing season, the <br />percent of survival shall be 80% for all areas. If an azea contains more than 20% exotic <br />species (non-native species) then the mitigation shall not be considered successful for that <br />area. <br />CONTiNGENCY PLAN <br />If during any of the inspections, 20% of the plants are severely stressed, or it appears <br />20%v may not survive, additional plantings of the same species may be added to the <br />planting area. If this situation persists into the next inspecdon, a meeting with Snohomish <br />County, the consulting wetland biologist, and the property owner will be scheduled to <br />decide upon contin;ency plans. Elements of the contingency plan may include, but will <br />not be limited to: more ageressive weed control, mulchin�, replanting with larger plant <br />material, different species, fertilization, soil amendments, and/or irri�ation. <br />�'S��L�ITENA,�CE <br />Prior to the initiation of this plan, a signed three-year maintenance agreement between the <br />property owner and a landscape technician shall be made available to Snohomish County. <br />Planting areas shall be maintained in the sprin� and summer of each year by the <br />landscape technician for the three-year monitoring period. Maintenance shall include, <br />but not be limited to the removal of competing grasses and non-native vegetation, and <br />irrigation of planted matcrials as necessary. <br />PERFOR�I�INCE BONDING <br />A performance bond or assignment of funds will be provided to Snohomish County for <br />the period of three years from the completion of the miti�ation project in the amount of <br />120% of the estimated cost for plant material, labor, monitoring, and maintenance. This <br />bond shall be released at the end of three years, upon a"successful deternunation" for all <br />portions of this restoration/enhancement project.
