If installing a safe for money (for next day receipts only) the <br />safe should be an actual money safe not just a fire safe. Safes <br />should be provided with seismic alarm sensors and passive <br />infrared alarm sensors in the room. <br />1.4. The Police Department has the following security recommendations: <br />a. The perimeter doors should be solid core or metal double <br />cylinder deadbolts; if doors open to expose outside of <br />hinges, pin hinges should be used. <br />b. Store front glass doors need locking case bolts top and <br />bottom; maximum security deadbolt should be 1 3/4 inch throw <br />and 3/4 inch laminated steel. <br />c. Metal security bay doors can be secured with 3/8 inch case <br />hardened steel hasps or chain with padlocks with 1/2 inch <br />case hardened steel shackles. <br />d. Lighting of the parking lot should be a minimum of 1-2 foot <br />candles. <br />e. The more large business windows are visible to the customer <br />parking area, the safer the area is from assaults and thefts. <br />No windows or few windows, especially ones that open on other <br />sides and rear give more security. <br />f. During the final stages of construction, please contact Dick <br />Thornberry, Crime Prevention Officer at 259-0416 for further <br />security recommendations. <br />15. GTE Northwest has facilities at this location. Any building <br />entrances must be coordinated at least 60 days in advance. <br />16.
