Maish, BEC Engineers
SUBJECT: Minutes From Preliminary Design Review Meeting , May 11, 1990
The purpose of this memo is to record structurally pertinent items discussed or
decided on in the above review.
1) The most current grading plan was requested by BECE from the Site
Consultants. It is expected next week. The finished slab elevation was determined
to be 580.75 FT at the upper slab. The finished floor at the gym will be 114 FT
below this at elevation 566.75 FT.
2) It was mentioned that there WOUld be two separate bid options affecting
the building layout. The configuration of these options was requested such that u
they may be addressed by the design.
3) The West wall at the Southwest corner of the building was made T3f=eP=
continuous and straight to the North end of the building. This addksA6 al- u§-
feet t simplifies the low roof framing in this area. '• w ""
4) The Southeast access door to the hack -will fie niodified'?o avoid f`ieata.
inch change in floor height at the tracks banked corner. i S •_ 9nos At-,
5) It was determined that the added cost to provide structure now for
expansion of the Classroom area, South and of the Activity Rooms, East would'U.z t Net
be less that $1000. It was decided to provide for this expansion in the current
design. The possible size of these expansions should be determined. iF:b F.-- $(r , --3 7y Y
t--- 6) Structural floor loadings were verified to be 100 PSF at both the Running
Track and the Aerobics Area. It was also noted that dynamic and impact effects
would be addressed(l both these areas during the Final Design.
Russell Olson
_C)t`-11-7tti
cc: P.Kosteniuk
S.
