A month or so would go by <br />between cutting operations, although the drying and storing <br />and selling operations would continue in the interim. By <br />196& the cutting operations were virtually non-existent <br />alChough Mr. Condit was present at the site and maintaining <br />the property. In 1969 t1r. Condit moved from his home near <br />the mi11 site, out to Silver Lake and conszdered himself <br />retired. <br />IX. <br />Eetween 1969 and 1974 when George S� _n,,n purchased the <br />mill property, Condit was frequently at the mill site. He <br />continued `_o receive his mail there. Fie added onto one <br />portion of the mill structure and tore down part of the old <br />structure. He tinkered with a hydra�].ic press he was build- <br />ing. He had stored lumber available f�r sale if anyone want- <br />ed to purchase it. He continued L•o receive electricity. <br />In Noveniaer of 1969 he arranged for easements across the <br />lan5 of two oi his neighbors to the PUD for power line pur- <br />poses. Ir. December of 19G9 he obtained a plumbi.ng permit for <br />the puraose of a septi� tank for �iill use or.ly. Sn NovemSer <br />of 1969 he reeuested a Board cf Adjustment hearing for the <br />purpose of seeking a variance to utilize a p�rtion of a <br />single family residence building site as an access road to <br />the existing sawmill. (No evidence was pr=sent�ad that a <br />hearing was actuaZly held or that a varia•�ce wa:a ever grant- <br />ed. However, an access road exists today.) In December of <br />1969 Condit had $529.89 worth of work dor.e by Eyelander Elec- <br />tric at the mill site. :�ew wiring and hreakers were in- <br />stalled.
