WAtNIHGTON
Fublic Works Uept. °°'°'
Reverend Frances Mason
United Pentecostal Church
3418 24th
Everett, WA 98201
Dear Reverend Mason:
It has come to the City's attention that you're proposing to open a school in your
church at 3418 24th Street. This actiity falls under the rPquirements of the
Special Property Use Permit Section of the Everett Municipal Code. That section
of the Code is enclosed for your information. My staff did discuss your proposal
with the Assistant City Attorney who concurred that your proposed school
operation is an expansion of the activity occurring on your property and therefore
is subject to all Special Property Use Permit regulations. The specific section that
applies to school operations, 19.58.010 C.1 is underlined in red on the attachment.
If you happen to disagree with the Planning Director's decision which requires you
to proceed through the Special Property Use process, then that decision can be
appealed to the Planning Commission as specified in 19.58.010 D which is again
1 underlined in the attachment.
Please contact Gerry Ervine at 259-8731 immediately to set up an appointment to
go ver the procedure that must be follc Hed to obtain the required use permit.
This process will provide for City review and public input to insure that the school
facility is established in a manner that meets all fire and safety codes and is
compatible with the surrounding residential neighborhood.

Sincerely,
J!'..,,,
i
E Denms L.
