SCHEDULE B: SMi i ISLAND LANDFILL 177065B <br />PHASE 2 CLOSURE IMPROVEMENTS <br />SECTION 02200 <br />SITE PREPARATION <br />PART GENERAL <br />1.1 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Interfering or Objectionable Material: Trash, rubbish, and junk; vegetation <br />and other organic matter, whether alive, dead, or decaying; topsoil. <br />B. Clearing: Removal and chipping or grinding to specification all unwanted <br />material from the surface, such as trees, brush, grasses, and other debris. <br />C. Grubbing: Removal and disposing of all unwanted vegetative matter from the <br />underground, such as sod, stumps, roots, or other debris. Grub all designated <br />areas to a minimum depth of 6 inches below ground surface. <br />D. Clearing Limits: Areas, as shown or specified, within which Work is to be <br />performed. <br />1.2 SCHEDULING AND SEQUENCING <br />A. Prepare Site only after adequate erosion and sediment controls are in place. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 GENERAL <br />A. Clear and grub areas within clearing limits shown on Drawings from edgz of <br />existing access road to top of perimeter dike. In addition, clear existing <br />vegetation from the landfill surface for Phase 2 closure improvements. <br />B. Do not injure or deface vegetation that is not designated for removal. <br />3.2 CLEARING <br />A. Clear areas within limits shown on Drawings or specified herein. <br />B. Cut stumps not designated for grubbing to within 2 inches of ground surface. <br />C.
