SCHEDULE B: SNU 1 ISLAND LANDFII-L 177065B <br />PHASE 2 CLOSURE IMPROVEMENTS <br />B. If pipe is to be laid within fili or backfill: <br />1. Fill or backfill to an elevation 2 feet above top of item to be laid. <br />2. Excavate trench for installation of item. <br />3. Install bedding, if applicable, as specified in Section 02320, Trench <br />Backfill. <br />4. Install item. <br />5. Backfill envelope zone and remaining trench, as specified in <br />Section 02320, Trench Backfill, before resuming filling or backfilling <br />specified in this section. <br />C. Tolerances: <br />1. Final Lines and Grades: Within a tolerance of 0.1 foot unless <br />dimensions or grades are shown or specified otherwise. <br />2. Grade to establish and maintain slopes and drainage as shown. Reverse <br />slopes are not permitted. <br />3.2 IMPORT FILL PLACEMENT FOR ACCESS RAMPS <br />A. Backfill with grading fill to lines and grades shown. Place in lifts of 8-inch <br />maximum compacted thickness and compact each lift to minimum 95 percent <br />relative compaction. <br />3.3 PLACEMENT OF REGRADED WASTE MATERIAL <br />A. Excavated waste material from landfill regrading and outlet pipe trench <br />excavations shall be placed in areas requiring fill as shown on the Drawings. <br />B. Place in lifts of 8-inch maximum uncompacted thickness. Compact lifts by <br />track -walking into place with a minimum three passes with a Caterpillar <br />D6M-LGP, or equal. Higher ground pressure equipment may be used as <br />approved by the Engineer. <br />C. Amend or spread and dry excavated waste material as specified in <br />Section 02315, Excavation, as required to place and compact as specified <br />herein. <br />D. After placement and compaction of excavated waste material, and prior to <br />placement of stabilization geotextile, regraded waste surface shall be <br />proof -rolled with a minimum two additional passes with <br />Caterpillar D6M-LGP, or equal to detect soft or loose waste surface <br />conditions. The Engineer will observe the proof -rolling and work <br />cooperatively with the Contractor to modify stabilization requirements as <br />specified in Article Waste Stabilization.
