SCHEDULE B: SMTTH .RAND LANDFILL 177065B <br />PHASE 2 CLOSURE IMPROVEMENTS <br />3.4 WASTE STABILIZATION <br />A. Place stabilization geotextile as specified in Section 02371, Geotextiles, over <br />regraded waste surface at the limits shown on the Drawings, unless directed <br />otherwise by the Engineer as specified herein. <br />B. Stabilization limits shown are approximate and may be revised in the field by <br />the Engineer based on actual conditions encountered and observations during <br />proof -rolling of regarded waste surface. <br />Contractor may propose alternate methods of waste stabilization for approval <br />by the Engineer. <br />3.5 SOIL COVER PLACEMENT <br />A. After completion of waste regrading and stabilization, place 1-foot thick soil <br />cover layer over the existing waste surface. <br />B. Place in lifts of 8-inch maximum compacted thickness. Compact lifts by <br />track -walking into place with a minimum four passes with a Caterpillar <br />D6M-LCP, or equal. Roll surface of final lift with a smooth -drum roller to <br />form a stable base. <br />C. Spread and dry excavated dike material or blend with itnpor; fill as required to <br />improve workability and handling Liaracteristics of material for placement as <br />soil cover. <br />3.6 ACCEPTANCE TESTING <br />A. The Contractor shall determine in -place density and moisture content by any <br />on or combination of the following methods: ASTM D2922, D1556, D2216, <br />D3017, or other methods approved by the Engineer. Testing will be observed <br />by Owner's Representative. <br />B. Contractor shall use own qualified personnel or a qualified independent <br />laboratory and certified technicians to perform materials sampling and field <br />and laboratory testing in accordance with ASTM Standards. <br />C. Perform testing on the following minimum schedule: <br />1. Import Fill for Access Ramps: Three per lift. <br />2.
