As specified in Section 02371, Geotextiles, for trench applications. <br />2.2 TRENCH STABILIZATION MATERIAL <br />A. As specified for Import Fill Material in Section 02316, Fill and Backfill. <br />2.3 GRANULAR BACKFILL FOR PIPE ZONE MATERIAL <br />A. As specified for Import Fill Material in Section 02316, Fill and Backfill. <br />2.4 EARTHFILL <br />A. As specified for Earthfill in Section 02316, Fill and Backfill. <br />2.5 SEEPAGE BARRIER (TRENCH PLUG) <br />A. Contractor may select either of the materials listed below for use as seepage <br />barrier: <br />1. Low permeable fill material, a nondispersible clay material with <br />100 percent passing the 1-inch sieve, greater than 25 percent passing the <br />No. 200 sieve and having a minimum plasticity index of 10. <br />2. Controlled Density Fill as specified in Section 2.09.3(1)E of the <br />Standard Specifications. <br />2.6 SOURCE QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Perform gradation analysis in accordance with ASTM C136 for: <br />I. Trench stabilization material. <br />2. Granular backfill for pipe zone material. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 TRENCH PREPARATION <br />A. Water Control: <br />1. Promptly remove and dispose of water entering trench as necessary to <br />grade trench bottom and to compact backfill and .i.aall manholes and <br />pipe. Do not lay pipe in water. <br />2.
