As specified in Section 02371, Geotextiles. <br />2.7 STRAW BALES <br />A. Machine baled clean salt hay or straw of oats, wheat, barley, or rye, free fmm <br />seed of noxious weeds, using standard baling wire or string. <br />2.8 POSTS FOR STRAW BALES <br />A. 2-inch by 2-inch untreated wood or commercially manufactured metal posts. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 SOIL PREPARATION <br />A. Before start of hydroseeding, and after surface has been shaped and graded, <br />and lightly compacted to uniform grade, scarify soil surface to minimum <br />depth of 1 inch. <br />3.2 HYDROSEEDING <br />A. Prepare 1-inch deep seed bed; obtain Engineer's acceptance prior to <br />proceeding. <br />B. Apply by hydroseeding method on moist soil, but only after free surface water <br />has drained away. Prevent drift and displacement of mixture into other areas. <br />C. Application Rate: <br />1. Hydroseed Mix No. 1: <br />a. <br />Seed Mix: 80 pounds per acre. <br />b. <br />Fertilizer, 20-10-10: 250 pounds per acre. <br />C. <br />Wood Cellulose Fiber Mulch: 2,500 pounds per acre. <br />d. <br />Water: As necessary. <br />2. Hydroseed Mix No. 2: <br />a. <br />Seed Mix: 196 pounds per acre. <br />b. <br />Fertilizer, 26-12-12: 400 pounds per acre. <br />C. <br />Stay Moist: 6 pounds per acre. <br />d. <br />Wood Cellulose Fiber Mulch: 2,000 pounds per acre. <br />e. <br />Water: As necessary. <br />D.
