� .a <br />�� <br />April 2, 1973 <br />The regular meetinq oF the Everett Board of Adjustment was held at <br />7:00 p.m. in the Hearing I'aom of the Snohomish County Courthouse, <br />Everett; WA. <br />Mr. Russell preside3, Mr, Kristiansen, and Mr. Zook were present, <br />Mr. Black and Mr. Wilson were absent. <br />Mr. Russell made the announcement that Item 1 under old business on <br />the agenda, The Colby Company, would be heard as Item 8 because of <br />equipment needed for their presentation and there would be a delay <br />before the equipment would be delivered. <br />A hearing was held on the application of Sherstad & Williams, PO Box <br />419, Y,irkland, T^1A 98033 for a variance from Section 19.14.050 of the <br />Everett Municipal Code, Yard Requirements, Paraqraph C, for permissi.on <br />to construct a single family residence to within fifteen (15) faet <br />of the rear yard property line rather than the code requirement of <br />twenty (20) feet. <br />Legal Lascription: Lot 9 Wellington Manor No. 2(So. of Holly Drivel <br />Approximate Location: SSth St. SE & 3rd Place SE (E. of 3rd Ave.) <br />Zoning: R-1 Sinc�le ramily Low Density Residence <br />tdr, Sherstad represented the company of Sherstad & F4illiams and made <br />the following statements: <br />1. There is an immerliate need for housing for the handicapped, This <br />is the type of structure they intend to build if permission is granted. <br />2. The size and shape of the lot is an extraordina-ry condition. <br />3. Because it is level Lot 9 is the only lot in the suUdivision that <br />can be used for handicapped housing, <br />Air. Sherstad then introduced bir. Jim Daley, a retired representative from <br />the Veterans liousing Administration, Dir. Daley also expressed the veteran <br />needs for tlie approve3 type oE residence that Sherstad & S�illiams would <br />build on Lot 9.
