As a result of these recent glacial events, most of the surficial and/or near surface soil types encountered within the Puget Sound Lowlands are derived from or directly associated with glaciations. The Preliminary Surfickill Geologic Map or the Mukilteo and Everett Quadrangles, Snohomish County, Washington, by Mackey Smith, dated 1976, has mapped the following geological unit with the area of the subject property. Vashon Glacial Till, undivided (Qvt). This deposit was mapped during our site reconnaissance. Till generally consists of a sorted mixture of silt, sand and gravel. This formation tends to be very dense, fairly impermeable, and stable in almost vertical embankments. A copy of the Geologic Map is contained in Appendix C of this report. 3.3 Site Stratigraphy Site stratigraphy has been interpreted from the soil information collected during our geologic mapping of tha site, from the material encountered within our test pits and correlated with the mapped geology of the area. All soil was logged and classified as it was removed from the ground. Locations of the test pits are shown on the Site Map contained in Appendix B. Copies of the logs from the Test Pits are contained in Appendix D of this report. Soil descriptions on the logs follow the Unified Soil Classification format this report. A copy of this classification is contained in Appendix E 5 GES, Inc.
