I <br />Novack Property 99-11-10 <br />l 51" Place <br />Everett, Wa <br />Test pit numbers, depths and locations were determined to provide information <br />required to provide information required for this report. Conditions encountered at <br />all three test pit locations were very similar. At all three locations, weathered till <br />was encountered underlying from 4 to 6 inches of topsoil. This weathered till <br />consisted of a reddish brown, fine- to coarse -grained Silty Sand that contained some <br />gravel and was loose to medium dense and dry. This weathered till extended from <br />1.5 to 3.0 feet below the ground surface. Underlying the weathered till, we <br />encountered unweathered till at the location of all three test pits. This unweathered <br />till consisted of a gray, fine- to coarse -grained Silty Sand that was dense to very <br />dense and dry. All three test pits were terminated within this strata due to the <br />denseness of the material. No seepage or water was noted during excavation of the <br />test pits. <br />3.4 Run-Off/Drainaee <br />Due to the impermeable nature of the surficial soil present within the upper <br />elevations of the site, we would anticipate that run-off would be high on this site. <br />Till is generally considered to be an aqualude. That is, it retards and may even <br />restrict the flow of ground water through it. Due to this, we would not expect that <br />"groundwater" would be a major problem on this site. We would anticipate some <br />f <br />minor seepage into excavations to be present only during the wetter months of the <br />1 year. Run-off and drainage should be handled according to the recommendations <br />contained in section 4.8 of this report. <br />6 GES, Inc. <br />
