SECTION 01117 <br />RAIL COORDINATION AND SAFETY <br />facility throughout the performance of the Work. Existing track and signals will be <br />available to BNSF personnel at all times for use, maintenance and repair. If <br />BNSF instructs the Contractor to move the Contractor's equipment, materials or <br />any installed material, which is located within the BNSF right of way, the <br />Contractor shall do so promptly. The Contractor shall not adjust or operate <br />BNSF's serviceable or functioning track or signal systems. <br />2. The Contractor will coordinate its Work so that there will be no delay to trains, or <br />interference in any manner with the operation of trains. <br />The Contractor shall not take any BNSF facility or equipment out of service <br />without prior written approval from BNSF or Sound Transit. Any requests by the <br />Contractor to take BNSF facility or equipment out of service shall be made to <br />Sound Transit no later than one week prior to the time it is necessary to take the <br />facility or equipment out of service. <br />B. The Contractor shall protect the BNSF track and signals from exposure to concrete, debris, <br />dirt and water during the Work. <br />C. "fhe Contractor shall comply with the instructions of the BNSF flaggers and other BNSF work <br />forces. <br />D. If damage is sustained by any of the existing communications equipment, underground or <br />above ground, as a result of the Contractor's operations, whelh.:r the damage sustained was <br />intentional or not, the Contractor shall immediately inform Sound Transit ;:nd BNSF. BNSF <br />will make a decision regarding how repairs or replacement will be made. The Contractor will <br />be responsible for paying for the costs of repair or replacement, including bu': not limited to <br />the following charges: <br />1. Replacement of the damaged equipment. <br />2.
