SECTION 01200 <br />MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES <br />determined. When required by the Resident Engineer, the loads shall be leveled when <br />the vehicles arrive at the point of delivery to facilitate measurement. <br />i.) Asphalt will be measured by the gallon or ton. Volumes will be measured at 60°F <br />or will be corrected to the volume at 60°F in accordance with ASTM D1250. Net certified <br />scale weights, subject to correction when asphalt material has been lost from the car or <br />the distributor, wasted, or otherwise not incorporated in the Work. <br />j.) Cement will be measured by the pound or sack. The term "sack" means <br />94 pounds of cement. <br />k.) Timber will be measured by the thousand feet board measure (MBM) actually <br />incorporated in the structure. Measurement will be based on nominal widths and <br />thickness and the extreme length of each piece. <br />I.) When a complete structure or structural unit or piece of equipment is specified as <br />the unit of measurement, the unit will be construed to include all necessary fittings and <br />accessories. <br />m.) When standard manufactured items are specified, such as railroad rail, ties, <br />fence, wire, plates, rolled shapes, pipe conduit, etc., and these items are identified by <br />gage, unit weight, section dimensions, etc., such identification will be considered to be <br />nominal weights or dimensions, not including bolts or other connectors. Unit Prices bid <br />should include allowances for any bolts and connectors. Unless more stringently <br />controlled by tolerance in cited specifications, manufacturing tolerances established by <br />the industries involved will be accepted. <br />n.) No measurement will be made for work performed or materials placed outside of <br />lines indicated on the plans or established by the Resident Engineer; materials wasted, <br />used or disposed of in a manner not called for under the Contract; material rejected after <br />it has been placed, by reason of the failure of the Contractor to conform to the provisions <br />of the Contract; hauling and disposing of rejected materials; material remaining on hand <br />after completion of the work; or other Work or material payment for which is contrary to <br />the provisions of the Contract. <br />1.09 PAYMENT FOR INITIAL MOBILIZATION <br />A. Payment for initial mobilization will be made at the lump sum allowance listed in the <br />Bid Form for bid ilrm 'Initial Mobilization", which amount shall constitute full <br />compensation for all such work. Payment for initial mobilization will be made in the <br />form of a single, lump sum, non-proratable payment, no part of which will be <br />approved for payment under the Contract until all mobilization items listed herein <br />have been completed as specified. <br />B. Requirements related to initial mobilization are further specified in the following <br />sections of the specifications: <br />General Provisions <br />2.
