SECTION 01323 NETWORK ANALYSIS SCHEDULES 1. 1.04 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A. The Schedule described herein serves as a communication tool between Sound Transit and the Contractor, and the Contractor and its subcontractors. The Contractor shall use the schedule to establish a joint understanding of the assumptions regarding the Work and the various constraints and opportunities that are possible within the plan. As the Work progresses, the Contractor shall use the schedule to assess impacts and to formulate the best methods to complete the Work on, or ahead of, the contractual completion dates. The purpose of the Sch,3dule is to: 1. Assure adequate planning, scheduling and reporting during the life of the contract. 2. Assure coordinatic- of the Work by and between the Contractor and the various subcontractors and suppliers. 3. Assist the Contractor and Resident Engineer to monitor the progress of the Work and to contemporaneously evaluate proposed changes to the Contract and the project schedule. 4. Assist the Contractor in the preparation and evaluation of the Contractor's monthly progress payment request. B. The Schedule shall employ the Critical Path Method (CPM) using retained logic for the planning, scheduling and reporting of the Work to be performed under this contract. The schedule shall be produced utilizing Primavera Project Planner software, version P3e/c v 5.0, or SureTrak, version 3.0. C. The Work shall be performed pursuant io the provisions of the contract, including all milestones or completion dates listed in the Contract Documents. D. Should the Contractor plan to complete the Work earlier than any specified Milestone or Completion date, Sound Transit will not be liable to the Contractor for any costs or other damages if the Contractor is unable to complete the Work before such milestone or completion date. The duties and obligations of Sound Transit to the Contractor are consistent with and applicable only to the completion of the Work on the Milestone and Completion dates specified in the Contract, unless Sound Transit and Contractor otherwise agree ir, writing. E. The services provided by the Resident Engineer, the existence of schedules, networks or any other charts or services prepared or performed by the Resident Engineer, shall in no way relieve the Contractor of the responsibility of complying with all of the requirements of the Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the responsibility of completing the Work within the Contract Time and the responsibility of planning, scheduling, and coordinating the Work. The Contractor shall comply with all control procedures specified herein and with any reasonable changes that may be necessary during the Contract duration. F. The Contractor shall calculate the CPM network using backward and forward path. No resource leveling shall be applied for the purpose of calculation of the network and its critical path.
