SECTION 01323 <br />NETWORK ANALYSIS SCHEDULES <br />1. <br />1.04 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A. The Schedule described herein serves as a communication tool between Sound Transit and <br />the Contractor, and the Contractor and its subcontractors. The Contractor shall use the <br />schedule to establish a joint understanding of the assumptions regarding the Work and the <br />various constraints and opportunities that are possible within the plan. As the Work <br />progresses, the Contractor shall use the schedule to assess impacts and to formulate the <br />best methods to complete the Work on, or ahead of, the contractual completion dates. The <br />purpose of the Sch,3dule is to: <br />1. Assure adequate planning, scheduling and reporting during the life of the contract. <br />2. Assure coordinatic- of the Work by and between the Contractor and the various <br />subcontractors and suppliers. <br />3. Assist the Contractor and Resident Engineer to monitor the progress of the Work and <br />to contemporaneously evaluate proposed changes to the Contract and the project <br />schedule. <br />4. Assist the Contractor in the preparation and evaluation of the Contractor's monthly <br />progress payment request. <br />B. The Schedule shall employ the Critical Path Method (CPM) using retained logic for the <br />planning, scheduling and reporting of the Work to be performed under this contract. The <br />schedule shall be produced utilizing Primavera Project Planner software, version P3e/c v <br />5.0, or SureTrak, version 3.0. <br />C. The Work shall be performed pursuant io the provisions of the contract, including all <br />milestones or completion dates listed in the Contract Documents. <br />D. Should the Contractor plan to complete the Work earlier than any specified Milestone or <br />Completion date, Sound Transit will not be liable to the Contractor for any costs or other <br />damages if the Contractor is unable to complete the Work before such milestone or <br />completion date. The duties and obligations of Sound Transit to the Contractor are <br />consistent with and applicable only to the completion of the Work on the Milestone and <br />Completion dates specified in the Contract, unless Sound Transit and Contractor otherwise <br />agree ir, writing. <br />E. The services provided by the Resident Engineer, the existence of schedules, networks or <br />any other charts or services prepared or performed by the Resident Engineer, shall in no <br />way relieve the Contractor of the responsibility of complying with all of the requirements of <br />the Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the responsibility of completing the <br />Work within the Contract Time and the responsibility of planning, scheduling, and <br />coordinating the Work. The Contractor shall comply with all control procedures specified <br />herein and with any reasonable changes that may be necessary during the Contract <br />duration. <br />F. The Contractor shall calculate the CPM network using backward and forward path.
