SECTION 01410 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS <br />PART 1 —GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. General: The list of environmental laws set forth in this section is provided pursuant to <br />Section 39.04 of the Revised Code of Washington. The Contractor shall fully comply with <br />the provisions of such laws as they may apply to the Work. <br />1.02 LIST OF ENVIRONMENTAL STATUTES, ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS <br />A. General: The following is a list of Federal, State and local environmental statutes, <br />ordinances and regulations which deal with the prevention of environmental pollution and <br />the preservation of public natural resources that affect or may affect this Project. This list is <br />not to be considered as all-inclusive, nor shall the absence of a law from this list be <br />construed to relieve the Contractor from complying with such law, to the extent it is <br />applicable to the Contractor. <br />Federal <br />Statutes <br />a.) National Environmental Policy Act: Establishes a Federal policy on the <br />environment and requires the appropriate Federal agency, in any Federally <br />assisted or authorized project, to prepare an environmental impact statement for <br />any "mzjor action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment". <br />b.) Clean Air Act: Establishes a Federal policy on air quality and directs each slate to <br />promulgate air quality laws and regulations to achieve the goals set forth in the <br />Act. <br />c.) Clean Water Act: Establishes a Federal policy on water quality and directs each <br />state to promulgate water quality laws and regulations to achieve the goals set <br />forth in the Act. In addition, the Act requires a permit for discharge of pollutants <br />and sets forth oil spill prevention provisions and penalties. <br />d.) Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899: Provides that discharge of refuse without a <br />permit into navigable waters is prohibited. <br />e.) Port and Waterways Safety Act of 1972: Provides vessel design and construction <br />standards to protect the marine environment. <br />f.) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act: Provides standards and requirements <br />for the generation, transportation, treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous <br />wastes. <br />g.)
