SECTION 16130 <br />RACEWAY AND BOXES <br />PART3-EXECUTIOh <br />3.1 INSTALLATION <br />,1. Install raceway+ and boxes in accordance with NECA "Standard of Instalfalioi, " <br />B. Ground and bond raceway and boxes in accordance with Section 16060. <br />C. Fasten raceway and box supports to slruclure and finishes in accordance with Section <br />16070. <br />D. Identify raceway and boxes in accordance wifh Section 16075. <br />E. Arr2nge raceway and boxes to maintain headroom and present neat appearance. <br />3.2 INSTALLATION - RACEWAY <br />A. Racew'ay rou�ing is shown in approximate locations unless dimensioneu. Route to <br />complete wiring system. <br />B. Arrange raceway supporis to prevent misalignment during wiring instaliation. <br />C. Support raceway usiny coated steel or malleable iron straps, lay-in adjustable hangers, <br />clevis hangers, and split hangers. <br />D. Group relaled raceway; support using conduil rack. Construct rack using steel channel <br />speci(ied in Seclion. <br />E. Do not support r'aceway with wire or perforated pipe straps. Remove wire used for <br />temporary supports <br />F. Do nol attach raceway to ceiling support wires or other piping systems. <br />G. Construcl wireway supporls from steel channel specified in Section 16070. <br />H. Route exposed raceway parallel and perpendicular to walls. <br />I. Route conduit in and under slab (rom point-lo-poinl. <br />J. Maintain clearance between raceway and piping for maintenance purposes. <br />K. Cut conduit square using saw or pipe cutter; de-burr cut ends. <br />L. Brinc� conduil to shoulder of fittings; fasten secure4y. <br />M. Install conduit hubs or sealir�g locknuts to fasten conduit lo cast boxes. <br />N. Install no rnore than equivalent of lhree 90 degree bends between boxes. Install conduit <br />bodies t�� make sharp changes in direction, as around beams. <br />O. Avoid moisture traps; install junction box wi!h drain fitting at low points in conduit system. <br />P.
