Asphalt Paving Association of Washington, 1990. We used traffic counts provided by
King County Department of Public Works, Traffic Engineering Department for the
Burien Transit Center, another INCA project. Given the above assumptions, our
reevaluation of the pavement section agrees with that proposed in the 2001 report. Based
on this, we recommend following the MPA thicknesses given in Table 1.
CLOSURE
The conclusions and recommendations presented 4n this report are based on surface and
subsurface observations accomplished for this study. Subsurface conditions can vary
substantially with depth, distance, or due to unanticipated geologic conditions. The
integrity of the geotechnical design elements depends on proper site preparation and
construction procedures. As the design develops, we recommend that we review final
design plans and specifications so we can revise or augment our recommendations as
required. During the construction phase of the project, we recommend that we be
retained to review contractor submittals and make geotechnical engineering decisions,
which may be required in the event that localized variations in the subsurface conditions
become apparent during construction.
We appreciate this opportunity to be of service to you.
