The absence of working phone lines for the alarm system will be cause for <br /> postponing fire department inspection and testing and shall result in denia! of <br /> occupancy. <br /> 10. Fire Suppression (Sprinkler) Svstem - An approved autornatic suppression system <br /> shall be provided as required by City Ordinance No. 1902-92, Chapter 16.76, of the <br /> Everett Municipal Code. The system must include a me�hanical water gong bell. <br /> Plans for any such system shall be submitted to the Building Department for � <br /> examination and approval. Such plans shall include p�ans for the underground mains <br /> thal will supply the sprinkler system. <br /> The type of sprinkler to be instailed will be determined by the Building Official. It may <br /> be an NFPA 13, �FPA 13R, or NFPA 13D system depending upon several factors. <br /> Sprinkler in�tallation shall not begin without an approved and stamped set of <br /> plans from the Buil�ing Department. The Fire Department will also review the plans <br /> and shall field inspect the installation based only on approved plans that must be on <br /> site. Changes to plans must be approved by both the Building and Fire C�epartments. <br /> Aboveground sprinkler piping shall be hydrostatically tested as established in NFPA <br /> Standard 13. Underground piping shall be hydrostatically tested and flushed as <br /> established in NFPA Standard 24 for private fire mains. (Below-pround piping must <br /> be installed bv Washinqton State Patrol Licensed Underqround Sprinkler line <br /> certified "U" installers. All such tests shall be witnessed by a Fire Department inspector. Call (425) <br /> 257-8124 fo make an appointment for inspection. <br /> Contractors' matenals and test certificates shall be submitted to the Everett Fire <br /> Department prior to issuance of any Certificates of Occupancy. <br /> Call (425) 257-8123 for more information. <br /> All fire alarm control panels (FACP) and sprinkler valves shall be in heated rooms or <br /> closets Nith standard man door access. Locations shall be approved by the Fire <br /> Marshall's Office. <br /> 11. Trash Collection - Dumpsters over 1.5 cubic yards capacity shall be located a <br /> minimum of 5 feet from tlie buildirg [IFC 304.3.3, 2003 Edition]. <br /> 12. The Washington State Clean Air Act requires the use of all known, available, and <br /> reasonable means of controlling air pollution, including dust. Dust generated during <br /> construction activities can be controlled by wetting those dust sources such as areas <br /> of exposed soils, washing truck wheels before they leave the site, and installirn� and <br /> maintaining grave! construction entrances. Construction vehicle track-out is also a <br /> major dust source.
