SE, SEPA #36-91.
For information purposes, to determine new school building capital
construction costs, the Everett School District ues a variety of
' factors. Consideration is given to:
number of students;
, square footage per student as mandated by SPI;
construction costs per square foot;
inflation;
and local contribution after state's portion is deducted.
If the Everett School District was requesting mitigation based on
capital construction costs, we would project for unhoused students
only. This project will generate 3.27 total snidents, all of whom
will be unhoused. The total cost to build for those students would
be $10,922.76 or $3,340.28 per student.
A capital construction bond passed in February, 1990. However,
the District is in the process of startinb on many projects to reduce
the overcrowded conditions. It will be five to seven years before
all phases of construction can be completed. In the interim, the
District will be utilizing portable classrooms to increase the
capacity of existing schools.
A Eqel Opportunity / qffirmetiva Action Employer
