PACE An En91^ee1119 Se"!Cee Company SILVER LAKE ELEMENTARY ADDITIONS SCHEMATIC DESIGN NARRATIVE WATER, SEWER DRAINAGE October 19, 2006 This narrative has been prepared as a supplement to Schematic Design Narrative to be prepared by Huttebal Oremus Architecture. This site civil narrative assumes other site elements such as grading, fire access, paving, site demolition, and dry utilities will be addressed by others or in subsequent design phases. WATER The existing water system infrastructure on the elementary school site is limited to the following: • Existing domestic water service and meter. The water service enters Building A from the west side and apparently serves all three buildings. The existing water meter box/vault is located just south of the northerly entry into the west parking area. The existing connection point for the water service is to a water main located on the east side of SR-527. See Schematic Water Plan. • Existing fire service for sprinkler system in Building C. Routing and connection point for the existing fire service and the location of associated double detector check valve assembly is not known. • An existing onsite fire hydrant is located on the south side of the south parking lot. This fire hydrant is currently connected to a water main in 129"' PI SE. This main owned by the Silver Lake Water & Sewer District. Only one other hydrant appears to be available for serving the buildings. It is located west of Building A on SR-527. • Existing irrigation system connection points were not reviewed for schematic civil design. Proposed improvements for the current elementary school addition project include the following: • No new domestic water service connections are proposed. The existing domestic water meter and service is planned to remain and will continue to be utilized for service to all existing buildings and the proposed gymnasium addition.
