PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Church of Jesus Christ of Lattnr Day Saints owns the property in ques- tion which has been annexed to the City of Everett for utility pnrposcs. The property is now vacant and fronts on 19th Ave. S.F. (Everett -Bothell. Highway). VIP's Restuarant and a Real Estate Office -Mortgage Loan Co. are located to the west of the Church property. A Shell Service Station and land which is proposed for a small business is. located to the north with single family residences to the east and south. The subject property was purchased in 1968 for the Church. A conditional use application was approved by Snohomish Comity in 1968. The Church con- struction program :uas postponed due to a chane.e in the ecclesiastical boundaries by the Church general authorities. Due to the e::pansion of the nembershi.p of the Church tI:L chapel is now required. Building funds have been collected to construct the bui.ldi,i, at a cost of approximately 1!,, million dollars. The L.D.S. Church leadership and members are eonscious of community atti- tude and impact of buildings and therefore plan to construct a facility that will be compatible with surrounding buildings and neighborhood. We believe the Church facility will be an attractive buffer from the free- wav and business which exits to the north and west and the residential area to the east and south. It should be noted that numerous complaints have been made to Church leaders regarding motorcycles and 4-wheel drive vehicles malting noise and creating dust problems on the Church site and property to the north. Ile have posted the area with signs and we have contacted the local law enforcement officials to help curb this activity. The primary activities of the Church are carried out on Sunday.
