Plans for such a system shall be submitted to the Fire Marshall for review and approval <br />prior to installation. Submittal shall include cut sheets of all equipment intended for use. <br />Appropriate trip tests, witnessed by a Fire Department inspector, shall be performed, <br />along with a certificate of completion, prior to final acceptance of the system. <br />Fire alarm systems shall be installed under permit of the City of Everett Building <br />Department. Electrical inspections and approval are required prior to calling for <br />ac,;eptance tests. Please call 259-8810 for permit information. <br />25. A portable fire extinguisher with a minimum UL rating of 2A m..st be provided within 75 <br />feet travel distance on each floor of all portions of each building during construction. <br />26. Fire lanes must be provided as required in Everett Municipal Code 46.44. Fire lanes must <br />be identified by red curbs with white stenciling stating "NO PARKING - FIRE LANE" <br />and vertical signs stating NO PARKING - FIRE LANE - TOW AWAY ZONE." <br />Location must be approved by the Fire Marshal. <br />27. The premises must be clearly identified by address at the street entry. Each building must <br />be clearly identified so as to be visible and legible from the access road. Each suite must <br />be clearly identified so as to be visible and legible from the access road. <br />28. Premise identification and all required Fire Department access roads and fire hydrams <br />shall be in service prior to commencement of construction. <br />29. The Uniform Fire Code requires that all new structures shall provide Fire Department <br />access roads to within 150 feet of all portions of the ground floor. Fire Department <br />access roads (Fire Lanes) shall provide a minimum of 20 feet in width of unobstructed, <br />all -season driving surface with a minimum clear height of 13'6". Fire lanes must be <br />posted and maintained as required by the Fire Department. <br />30. Dumpsters over 1.5 cubic yards capacity shall be located a minimum of five feet from the <br />building [UFC 1103.2.0, 1994 Edition]. <br />31. When access to or within a structure or an area is unduly difficult because of secured <br />openings or where immediate access is necessary for life saving or fire -fighting purposes, <br />the Fire Department may recommend or require a key box to be installed in an accessible <br />location. A rapid entry system may also be desirable in order to avoid unnecessary <br />damage while making entry to any building during an emergency situation. <br />Please call 259-8726 for further information. <br />32. The City of Everett prohibits outdoor burning. Therefore, outdoor burning for the <br />purpose of disposing of construction debris or rubbish will not be permitted. <br />33. The Washington State Clean Air Act requires the use of all known, available, and <br />reasonable means of controlling air pollution, including dust. Dust generated during <br />construction activities can be controlled by wetting those dust sources such as areas of <br />exposed soils, washing truck wheels before they leave the site, and installing and <br />maintaining gravel construction entrances. Construction vehicle track -out is also a major <br />dust source. Any evidence of track -out can trigger violations and fines from the <br />Department of Ecology or the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency. <br />
