The activities we observed included: <br />1. subgrade preparation prior to placement of structural fill' <br />2. subgrade preparation for retaining structure footings <br />3. placement and compaction of structural fill <br />4. placement and compaction of utility trench backfiil <br />5. subgrade preparation for building footings <br />6. construction of retaining structures <br />7. subgrade preparation for pavement areas <br />
