June 3, 2015 <br />Mike Lapointe, Everett, commented on the environment and safety <br />relating to the increase in oil trains, oil rigs, and ships. He encouraged the <br />council members to take action to protect the planet. <br />Council Vice President Murphy announced that a City Council briefing on <br />oil trains is scheduled for June 10, 2015. <br />Charlene Rawson, Everett, thanked the Everett Police Department for <br />responding to neighborhood concerns about drug trafficking. <br />COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA: <br />2016 Budget Review Number 1 <br />Presented by Susy Haugen, Finance <br />Victor Harris, Everett, commented on ADA issues, specifically the need for <br />curb cuts. <br />Sewer Ordinance and Backwater Valve Update <br />Presented by Tim Benedict, Legal; and Grant Moen, <br />Public Works <br />Grant Moen announced the deadline for the backwater valve rebate <br />program has been extended to September 1, 2015. <br />Shelly Weir, Everett, commented on the backwater valve program and <br />urged the Council to change the claims process. <br />Charlene Rawson asked for more information about the downspout <br />disconnection program.
