Jan Meston
City of Everett Planning Department
2930 Wetmore Ave,
Everett, WA 98201
Jack O'Donnell, Chair
Historic Commission:
My home at 2125 Virginia Avenue was built in 1910— 1911 and is unique
for the Riverside neighborhood and for Everett. It was built as a single family
home but in the 1950's extensive alterations made it into a duplex. It has taken
me almost ten years to partially return it to it original style.
As a concerned resident, I feel the Riverside Overlay would provide a
layer of protection to help preserve the work I've done on my home as well as
the efforts of many of my neighbors. Too often, the historic value of a
neighborhood is ruined by rezoning for the sake of redevelopment.
The guidelines within the Overlay Zone with secure the character of the
neighborhood as well as offer alternatives for change. My neighbors and I want
to safeguard the history of Riverside and to continue to welcome new home
owners that want to care for and live in a piece of that history.
Sincerely,
Roberta Goodwill
Co-Chair Riverside Neighborhood Association
2125 Virginia Ave.
Everett, WA 98201
MEMEOWE
OCT - 3 2008
CITY OF EVERETT
Planning Dept.
