This is in keeping with the historic roots of Riverside, the
people who built their homes here and built Everett into the city you now see. But one of
the things we all have in common is the neighborhood we live in. This is truly a unique
area that has retained most of its original character, streetscape and buildings for over
100 years! This is why most of us are attracted to this area.
We have all seen neighborhoods like ours attacked buy wanton urbanization. One house is
torn down to make way for two. A block is torn out for a parking lot. Soon the
neighborhood that you remembered is no longer there. Others that you called neighbors who
took pride in their homes have left because of the sprawl.
We have a rare opportunity here to help retain this portion of Riverside for today and the
future.
Glenn Hunter
Career Advisor
Quality Through Training Program
1
