RIVERSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD HISTORIC OVERLAY <br /> We support the Riverside Historic Overlay Zone <br /> with a southern boundary modification. <br /> This Petition is in favor of changing the southern boundary, from <br /> California Street to Everett Avenue, for the following reasons: <br /> 1 . Everett Avenue is a very high traffic arterial that is naturally <br /> divides the mixed use area of California Street to Everett <br /> Avenue, from the rest of the proposed residential overlay to <br /> the North. These few blocks are not consistent with the <br /> single family residential feel outlined in the ordinance. They <br /> are made up of a tavern, PUD parking lot, apartments, <br /> condos, and rentals. Everett Avenue is a much more logical <br /> boundary. <br /> 2. The zoning south of Everett Avenue is all R-4, Multiple <br /> Family High Density, whereas most of the northern overlay <br /> is R-2, Single Family Detached Medium Density. <br /> 3. Most of the residents residing south of Everett Avenue are <br /> renters, not home owners. Therefore, the culture is much <br /> different than the pride in ownership and single family feel <br /> of the neighborhood shown north of Everett Avenue. <br /> THE FOLLOWING SIGNERS SUPPORT THE RIVERSIDE <br /> HISTORIC OVERLAY NORTH OF EVERETT AVENUE AND FOR <br /> THE ABOVE REASONS PROPOSE A BOUNDARY CHANGE FROM <br /> CALIFORNIA TO EVERETT AVENUE. <br /> Contact: Chuck (425) 259-8132 <br /> All signatures must be submitted before the end of September. <br />
