• <br /> REGIONAL PARATRANSIT TO PARATRANSIT <br /> INTERSYSTEM TRANSFER POLICY AGREEMENT <br /> THIS AGREEMENT ("Agreement"), effective January 1, 2009, is entered <br /> into by and between SNOHOMISH COUNTY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION <br /> BENEFIT AREA CORPORATION ("Community Transit"); the CITY OF EVERETT <br /> ("Everett Transit"); KING COUNTY("King County Metro"); KITSAP COUNTY <br /> PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BENEFIT AREA AUTHORITY("Kitsap Transit"); and <br /> PIERCE COUNTY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BENEFIT AREA CORPORATION <br /> ("Pierce Transit"); and each of which is herein referred to individually as a"Party" or <br /> collectively as "Parties." <br /> WHEREAS, a regional paratransit to paratransit intersystem transfer policy will <br /> enable customers to travel and transfer among and between the Parties' paratransit <br /> services in the central Puget Sound region; and <br /> WHEREAS, each Party provides public transportation services in a portion of the <br /> Central Puget Sound region of Washington State pursuant to state law; and <br /> WHEREAS, each Party is duly authorized to provide public transportation within <br /> its portion of the region and to collect fares for such services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties have determined that regional fare coordination will <br /> promote the use of public transportation throughout the region by both their individual <br /> and collective customers due to increased ease and convenience; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties have agreed that a regional paratransit to paratransit <br /> intersystem transfer policy will further the goal of providing ease of use to transit services <br /> in the central Puget Sound region; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants <br /> contained herein, the Parties agree as follows: <br /> Section 1. PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this Agreement is to establish a coordinated regional policy for <br /> paratransit to paratransit intersystem transfers. The policy will enable paratransit <br /> customers to access and transfer among and between the paratransit services provided by <br /> the Parties. <br /> 1 <br />
